How to Lock Your Android Screen - Android OS Tips and Tricks

With security being a growing issue you need to be able to protect your smartphone or tablet not only from online threats and malicious applications that spread malware but also from other people who may get a hold of your device.
If you would like to make your Android device more secure then one good way to do so is to setup screen locking. By locking your Android screen you prevent people from getting into your device if they get a hold of it while you are not around. This way you don't have to worry about someone getting into your phone or tablet if you leave it unattended.
There are several ways to setup screen locking which gives you the opportunity to choose a method that works best for you. You can require swiping a pattern to log in or set it up so you have to enter a PIN number or password to unlock the screen. To get to the screen lock settings go into your settings and then to Location & security and finally tap on Set up screen lock.

The pattern option forces you to draw or swipe a specified pattern on your screen to unlock your phone. You will be able to choose this pattern and enter it into your device before using it. Simply draw the pattern by connecting the dots on the screen to make a pattern you will remember. You will have to confirm the pattern as well to make sure it’s correct so you don’t lock yourself out.
