Take photos a whole Lot quicker using your Android with Fast Burst Camera

Problem

Have you ever tried using your Android to take photos at a fast-paced event such as a sports game?  It is very easy to miss important shots using a regular Android camera.  Many times it takes time for the picture to be taken once the shutter button is pressed.  It has to auto-focus, snap, save, and perhaps even load up the photo for a preview.  While all of this is being done, the game (or other fast event) goes on without you.

Solution

Fast Burst Camera is just about the perfect solution for fast-paced photo shooting.  The shutter button looks just like any other shutter button on other camera apps but it works a bit different.  It works in two different way.  First, if you hold the button, it keeps taking photos (5 to 10 photos a second).  I call this fully-automatic.  Secondly, tapping the button will allow you to take one photo at a time, about as fast as you can tap it.  Semi-automatic.

There is a free Lite version with fewer options.  The paid version has these options not available on the Lite app:
  • Flash
  • Focus
  • Zoom
Even without these features Fast Burst Camera Lite does a good job on fast photo shooting.

Pros

  • Shoots super-fast photos in semi-automatic and fully-automatic modes
  • Never miss the perfect shot (sift through the bursts to find the right shot)
  • String them together either in a photo-booth-type strip or even an animated GIF (on your own with photos provided by app)

Cons

  • Has a higher-res setting but in my experience the photos came out blank (just green with weird lines)
  • I wish the photos were put in the normal gallery folder but not a big deal

Conclusion

Fast Burst Camera (and Lite) suits its purpose almost perfectly.  Never miss an action shot again!
