ThinkFree Office For Android - Android App and Game Tips and Tricks

Now that many people use their smartphone or tablet as their primary mobile device rather than the good old fashioned notebook, it makes sense to have an office suite on it so you can do the same things you did on your notebook. There are man apps out there to choose from that do similar things but it's a good idea to have one that's compatible with the documents created on your computer.
The ThinkFree Office Mobile Viewer for Android is an office suite that is compatible with Microsoft Office. It allows you to manage your documents from one central online location. ThinkFree Office also allows you to share your documents with other users via email or you can also share without having to email them if you have a free online account. There is the free version called ThinkFree Office Lite and the pay for version which has more features.
ThinkFree Office can also tie in with your Google Docs account and allow you to access all of the documents you have stored there. There is also the option to have an offline local copy of your documents on your Android device in case you don't have service or an internet connection.
From the ThinkFree Office website you have the ability to share your documents with other people and decide if you want them to be co-authors or just viewers. You can also publish your documents to the Internet, where anyone will be able to access and view them online. You can also edit and delete documents as well as create folders to organize them.
Once you sign up on the website you will be able to create and save new documents. Just click on New and choose what type of document you want to create and start editing your new document. If you want to save a local copy to your computer then simply click on the Actions menu and choose Download.

There is also the option to upload office files from your computer to your online account so you will be able to access them with your Android device. This comes in very handy if you need to reference a document that you created at the office while on the road. To do this click on the Upload button and browse to where you have the file stored on your computer.

Once you have your documents created or uploaded and the ThinkFree Office app installed on your Android you can access them on your device. The app has 4 main tabs to it. The Home tab basically tells you information about the app and what it can do. The My Docs tab will show you the documents you have in your default folder on your device. This folder location can be changed in the preferences. The Online tab shows what files you have stored online at the ThinkFree Office website. Finally the Google tab shows you what documents you have stored with your Google Docs account and will let you share them as well.

When you tap on a document from the Online tab to open it you will have several options such as download, rename, delete, move, copy, share and properties.

Pressing the menu button on your device will bring up additional options such as the ability to create a new folder, refresh the screen if you have added new documents online, sort your documents, sign out and set your preferences.
If you want to view your file then you have to download it from your online storage first. By default it puts it on the root of your SD card. You can change this default location from the preferences menu option. If you want to edit your file on your Android device then you will need to purchase the full version of the app.

With a file open you can press your menu button and bring up options such as edit, find and zoom. The file option will let you save, save as, show the document's properties and send the file via email. You can also send the file from the Online section when you tap on a document and choose the Share option.
One final thing worth mentioning about ThinkFree Online is the Workspace feature. With the Workspace feature you can create a shared workspace that you can invite people to, share documents with them and collaborate on your project.
