Using the Android Clock and Alarm - Android OS Tips and Tricks

Anyone who has ever had to be somewhere at a certain time in the morning has used an alarm clock. Without them we would never wake up in time and almost certainly be late for work or other appointments. When traveling it's a pain to have to bring an alarm clock from home just to make sure you get up in time so that's where using your smartphone or tablet comes into play. But your Android does much more than act like a clock.
The Android operating system comes with a built in clock and alarm that lets you do things such as set multiple alarms and use your device as a slide show picture frame as well as play your stored music files. It also has a built in weather feature so you will know what you are in for before you head out the door.
When you open the clock app you will see that there are options to set an alarm, play a picture slide show, play music and go to your home screen. It will also give you the current weather conditions for your location that you can tap on to get more details such as the upcoming forecast. Some Androids have docks that allow you to use your device as a clock when you aren't using it as a phone.

If you tap on the alarm button you can setup multiple alarms for different times and days. These alarms can be set to repeat on the days you choose and can be turned on and off simply by tapping on the alarm clock next to that particular alarm. You will see a picture of an alarm clock in your notification area when you have an alarm turned on.

Tapping on the alarm will take you into the settings for that alarm. Here you can also turn the alarm on or off, change the time, set it to repeat, assign it a special ringtone, turn on vibrate and assign a label to it. If you don’t need this alarm anymore you can tap on the Delete button to get rid of it.

The slide show button will play a slide show of the pictures stored on your device similar to those digital slide show picture frames you can buy. The music button will open your music player allowing you to listen to the stored music on your device. The home button will take you back to your home screen.
