Android Music Player - Android OS Tips and Tricks

People with smartphones use their phones for more than just making phone calls. They are also used for web browsing, navigation and listening to music. Nowadays there is no real need to have a phone and a separate music or MP3 player if you have the right kind of phone. If you are an Android smartphone owner then this applies to you.
Android devices come with a built in music player called what else but Music. This music player makes your device a personal MP3 player that allows you to have all your favorite music with you anywhere you go. The Android Music app supports many types of music files including MP3, M4A, AAC, DRM-free, ANR, MIDI and OGG Vorbis files.
By default music files are stored in the root of your device's drive but the Music app has the ability to find music files that are located at other locations. So if you want to keep it more organized you can create a folder called Music on your device and copy your songs and albums into it. If you want to use any album art images on your device they need to be in JPEG format, be named albumart.jpg and placed in the same folder as the music files.

Once you copy your music files to your device make sure to disconnect the USB connection and then go into the Music app and your albums will be there. There are different ways to look at your music such as by artist, album, songs, playlists, and genres. If you uploaded your album art it will show the album cover. We have noticed in some cases that even if you have the album art there that the cover wont display. If you have multiple albums by the same artist then they will all be listed under the artist's name.

There are many things you can do with your music while on a particular item. Tapping on the arrow next to the song allows you to play the song, add it to a custom playlist, delete the song, shop for more music by that artist or show more music from that artist that you have on your device.

It's also possible to search your music library for artists, albums and songs if there is something in particular you are looking for. If you want to mix things up there is also a shuffle option. Just press the menu button on your device to get to these options.
If you use the Google Music service then you can stream your music from your collection of music from the Google Music site online. Just keep in mind that performance may vary depending on your service signal and if you don't have an unlimited data plan you should make sure you don't go over your limit. It will also work via a Wi-Fi connection.
