Get the Gingerbread Keyboard for older Android versions

One great feature of Android Gingerbread (2.3) is the new and improved keyboard. The keyboard looks nicer and is much easier to type on. If you have an Android version below Gingerbread then you no longer have to miss out.
Keyboard from Android 2.3 is a customized version of the Gingerbread stock keyboard. The Gingerbread keyboard includes the following feautures:
  • Multitouch
  • User dictionary, built-in dictionary
  • Auto correction
  • Redesigned and optimized keyboard layout and style
  • Speech to text
There is a free version and a pro version of Keyboard from Android 2.3. In the pro version, the developer has added extra features that are not included on the stock/standard Gingerbread keyboard. These features include:
  • 6 Keyboard themes
  • Custom vibrator intensity
  • Custom key height, text size, row gap, bottom adjustment.
  • Long press “Enter” key to bring up smiley alternatives.
  • Options to hide period and comma key.

Pros
  • Quality of keyboard – The Gingerbread keyboard is very capable and the majority of people find that they can type very fast on it.
  • Extra featuresThe developer has included many great extra features such as keyboard themes.
Cons
  • Available for freeThe stock/standard keyboard can be installed for free on Xda developers. This app will save you time installing and you will get the extra features.
Conclusion
Keyboard from Android 2.3 is a great version of the stock Gingerbread keyboard. If you haven’t used the Gingerbread keyboard then install it and see if you like it. Even though the Gingerbread keyboard is improved I would recommend a keyboard like SwiftKey.
